Background

edit

On November 11, 2021, White announced that he would release two studio albums in 2022, Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive.[1] A month later, White announced the tour alongside concert dates and festival appearances in North America and Europe.[2]

During the first show of the entire tour, in Detroit, White proposed to his girlfriend Olivia Jean, who had also served as the opening act, during the song "Hotel Yorba". The couple were married during the encore by White's business partner Ben Swank.[3]

Opening acts

edit

On March 15, 2022, White announced the supporting acts that would be accompanying him during the tour.[4] Punk rock quartet Be Your Own Pet is set to reunite and perform after fourteen-year hiatus.[5] Along with the band, Sugar Tradition, Olivia Jean, Geese, July Talk, Men I Trust, Starcrawler, JD McPherson, Briston Maroney, Chicano Batman, Natalie Bergman, The Afghan Whigs, The Kills, The Backseat Lovers, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Chubby and the Gang, Yard Act, SONS, Doctor Victor, KO KO MO, Larkin Poe, Equal Idiots, Mdou Moctar, Ezra Furman, Cherry Glazerr, Cautious Clay and Glove would join White as the tour openers.[6]

Notes

  • At the show in Singapore, "Seven Nation Army" was sung as the show opener, preceding "Taking Me Back", leaving "Fell in Love with a Girl" as the main set closer, and "Ball and Biscuit" as the encore closer.
  • While "Taking Me Back" and "Seven Nation Army" were consistently in the positions of Show-Opener and Encore-Closer respectively, the song used to end the main set of the concert varied wildly from gig to gig. The most commonly used was "Ball and Biscuit," however other common picks included "I'm Slowly Turning Into You," "Carolina Drama," "Steady, As She Goes," "I Cut Like a Buffalo," and "We're Going to Be Friends."
  • Other songs that were often performed during the tour included "Hi-De-Ho," "What's the Trick?," "Lazaretto," "The White Raven," "That Black Bat Licorice," "If I Die Tomorrow," "Cannon," and "Freedom at 21."
