Subiaco Marist Cricket Club (SMCC) is a cricket club based in Churchlands, Western Australia. The club fields men's teams in the Western Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association (WASTCA) and women's teams in the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) Female Club Cricket competition. The office of the club is in Newman College. The 1st XI home ground is John Lucas Oval.

History
editThe club was borne from an amalgamation of Marist Newman Old Boys (MNOB) and Subiaco Women's Cricket Club in 2000. Prior to this year, Subiaco Women's Cricket Club had been crowned state champions on 24 occasions. Eight women from SWCC/SMCC have represented Australia [1],[2][3][4],[5][6][7],[8],[9]. MNOB had laid claim to 11 premierships during their shorter history [10]. Three SMCC players have represented England at test level [11][12][13][14]
Throughout the history of MNOB, SWCC and SMCC, they have combined for 73 premiership flags, as at the end of the 2020/21 Season [15].
In 2018/19, Subiaco Marist Cricket Club made club history, collecting 4 premiership flags in one season; 2nd Grade (Captain: Scott Gaynor), 6th Grade (Captain: David Bushell), 8th Grade (Captain: Justin McGovern), and T20Div1 (Captain: Sam De Silva).
In 2019/20, in a COVID-affected season where finals were abandoned and the premiership flag was awarded to the team ranked top of the ladder - Subiaco Marist collected the One Day Division 2 flag. SMCC also won the Colts Grand Final, which was completed before the COVID restrictions occurred.
In 2020/21, SMCC won One Day Twos and One Day Threes flags.
In 2021/22, SMCC won four more flags, equaling their club record. Winning the final for 5th Grade, 6th Grade (both One-Day and Two-Day), and 8th Grade.
In 2022/23, SMCC broke their club record and likely set a WASTCA record, winning Nine Flags in one season. 4th Grade (both One-Day and Two-Day under Captain M. Blake), 5th Grade (Captain S. Peiris), 6th Grade (Captains M. Spiteri & B. Brittain), 8th Grade (both One-Day and Two-Day under Captain J. McGovern), One-Day Ones (Captain B. Bryant), One-Day Twos (Captain R. Wijayathunga), T20 Div 2 (Captain B. Brittain). This pushes the total of the combined MNOB, SWCC and SMCC efforts to 86 premiership flags.
As of the 2024/25 season, the club holds teams in the following grades: 1st XI (1st Grade), 2nd XI (3rd Grade). 3rd XI (6th Grade), 5th Grade, 7th Grade, One Day Div One, One Day Div Two, One Day Div Three, One Day Div Four, T20 Div 1, T20 Div 2, and T20 Colts.
Colours and Insignia
editThe colours of the club are a combination of dark and pale blue (inherited from MNOB) and claret (from Subiaco). The symbol of SMCC is a stylised shield, representing the united and resilient spirit of all Subiaco Marist "warriors".
