Stephanie Mehta is an American journalist and business executive, who currently serves as the CEO and chief content officer of Mansueto Ventures, the media company that publishes Fast Company and Inc. magazines.

Early life and education
editMehta received a B.S. in English and an M.S. in journalism from Northwestern University.[1]
Career
editStephanie Mehta started her journalism career at The Virginian-Pilot and Ledger Star newspaper in Norfolk, Va.[2][3] before joining The Wall Street Journal, where she worked from 1994 to 2000. From 2000 to 2014, she worked at Fortune, rising from writer to deputy managing editor, the No. 2 spot on the masthead.[4][5]
In 2014, Mehta joined Bloomberg Media as a consultant and[6] led the editorial conference division of Bloomberg Media in 2015 to 2016.[7][8][9]
From February 2016 to February 2018 she was a deputy editor at Vanity Fair, where she helped produce the annual New Establishment list and conference,[10][11] launched a new female founders conference,[12][13] and edited cover stories on Brie Larson, Jennifer Lawrence, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[14][15]
In March 2018, Mehta was named editor-in-chief of Fast Company magazine.[16] She led the magazine's digital transformation and expanded its coverage to include topics such as social justice, diversity, and sustainability.[17][18]
Under her leadership, Fast Company was a National Magazine Award finalist in design for three years in a row,[19] and the title added two new annual conferences.[20][21]
In 2021, Mehta was promoted to CEO of Mansueto Ventures, succeeding Eric Schurenberg.[22] Mehta is a board member of the American Society of Magazine Editors[23][24] and the Airbel Impact Lab, the research and innovation arm of the International Rescue Committee.[25]
In 2022, she received the New York Women in Communications Matrix Award, celebrating women in the arts and communications.[26][27]
