Silver was met with "universal acclaim" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 81, based on 5 reviews.[2]

Jane Oinonen of The Line of Best Fit gave the album an eight out of ten, noting the release as a "celebratory demonstration of real musical imagination and scope, echoing such past notables as Liquid Liquid, ESG and Tom Tom Club in how oft-visited strands of rhythm-forward music – rooted in funk, soul and disco."[6]

The album reached number 61 in Scotland on the Official Charts Company.[7]
