Seedy and The Years is a band that was formed back in 2017 by long-time friends Joshua Llorente and Carlo Manalo. They wanted to record a few songs that they had written. Carlo contacted childhood friend Nathan Fadera and churchmates Eboy Bautista and Daetrick Aquino to record the guitar, keyboards, and bass parts, respectively.

The now-formed group started recording Day Before and an unreleased version of Younger.

Due to location and scheduling concerns, Nathan had to step down as guitars. Carlo, then, spoke to a former band mate, Ray Bonifacio, to take Nate's place to record the remaining tracks to Downshift; the band's first EP.
