Sarasău (Hungarian: Szarvaszó) is a commune in Maramureș County, Maramureș, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Sarasău.

The commune lies on the left bank of the river Tisza, on the border with Ukraine, across from Solotvyno; the river Sarasău flows into the Tisza in the village. Sarasău is located in the northern part of the county, 8 km (5 mi) northwest of Sighetu Marmației and 71 km (44 mi) north of the county seat, Baia Mare. It is traversed by national road DN19 [ro], which runs from Oradea to Sighetu Marmației.

At the 2021 census, the commune had a population of 2,433, of which 89.15% were Romanians and 2.22% Roma.[2]
