Sarah Llewellyn (born 1979) is an English composer and music director who writes for theatre, film, circus and performance projects throughout the UK and internationally.

Career
editSarah currently works as Composer and Music Director at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.[1][2][3][4]
She has previously been the Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer at the Royal Shakespeare Company.[3] Here, she composed music for plays as part of the RSC's Mischief Festival , as well as for various Education projects. She helped in assisting the composer for a Shakespeare play in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.[3]
Sarah has previously composed for radio. She specially composed music for the BBC Radio 4 drama, The Signalman, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Christmas ghost story The Signal-Man.[5] It first aired on Chistmas Day 2022.
In 2024, Sarah composed original music for BBC Radio 3 drama Jubilee, which is set after the American Civil War and tells the story of a choir of freed African Americans who "sang before royalty, helped build a university and introduced spirituals to the world".[6] The 90-minute drama was first aired on the 16 June 2024.[7]
