Samsung Anycall

Anycall (Korean: 애니콜) was a South Korean mobile phone brand established by Samsung Electronics in 1993. It was once the most popular mobile phone brand in the country, having been the leader since 1995.[1] Samsung mobile phones were sold through the Anycall brand in South Korea and the greater China region prior to 2011. The brand was eventually retired during the 2010s when it only remained in use for feature phones.

Like other mobile phone brands in South Korea, they provided technology such as cameras, internet access, and digital TV through Digital Multimedia Broadcasting.

Spokeswoman

Lee Hyori was spokeswoman for Anycall from 2003 During this period, she starred in Anycall produced music videos such as "Anymotion", which features Anycall SCH-V600 by Lee Hyori Phone. In 2005, Hyori Lee starred in "Anyclub", a follow-up to the smash hit "Anymotion". In December 2006, she starred in a third installment, labeled "Anystar". The first music video starred Lee Hyori along with Eric Mun, while the second and third installment starred Kwon Sang-woo and Lee Joon-gi respectively.

Since the expiration of Hyori's contract with Samsung in November 2007, K-pop stars such as BoA, Kim Junsu, Tablo, and Jin Bora collaborated to produce "Anyband", which featured three combined music videos for songs "Talk, Play Love", "Promise U", and "Day Dream" in a seven-minute commercial. The temporary band also held concerts for fans.

In 2008 k-pop groups DBSK & Girls' Generation collaborated from one music video to promote Samsung Anycall Haptic.

In 2009 Shinee released digital single "Bodyguard" to promote the cell phone. The music video and CF for the song featured the popular on-screen couple So Yi-jung (Kim Bum) and Chu Ga-eul (Kim So-eun) from the popular KBS romantic drama series Boys Over Flowers. The same year Son Dam-bi and girl group After School teamed up for the digital single Amoled. After School will soon replace Son Dambi as the new spokes models for the brand.

A South Korean girl group Miss A released in 2010 their song "Love Again", whose music video promoted the Samsung Beat Festival. The video also prominently featured an Anycall phone.

In 2011 IU (kpop singer) became the spokeswoman.

This document summarizes the UI for each product of Anycall prior to TouchWiz. SHW-A305D, SHW-A301S, SM-B510, and SM-B520SL, which were released after the Anycall brand was abolished, are also included in the description. Anycall's UI is divided into different UIs before skin phones were appeared in 2006, Black GUI that changed after skin phones appeared, White GUI that only changed colors from Black GUI in 2008, and Personal UX that changed its design radically.

Window UI

It has been applied to models supporting CDMA2000 1xRTT since 2000 , and was first applied to SCH-X100 and SPH-X1000 . The existing black and white UI has been changed to a method that opens a notification window, and this method continues to the White GUI. The notification window interface is also connected to the late-type Color GUI when the user-set notification window is combined. Power On/Off was also in the form of an animation and a phone number before that, but like feature phones that came out after that, the Anycall logo appeared and the power-on animation appeared.

In 2001, 16 chords were applied from SCH-X130 and SPH-X1300, and Color Window UI, which is the basis of Color GUI, was installed from Anycall Color Chord .

The Color GUI that came out after that was also made based on the Window UI.

Color GUI

Used from 2001 to 2005[6] This is the interface that has been applied for the longest time. It is based on a 256-color bitmap. As in the picture above, when the screen is in standby mode, only a part except for the indicator part can be designated as a wallpaper.[7][8] Also, in the locked state, the background screen is changed to a background screen with a lock drawn on it.[9] At that time, there were 13 menus instead of 9. The start menu includes the 'My Mobile Phone' menu, and you can designate the menu by registering your own shortcuts and changing the icon. Until 2002, the interface was based on the Window UI applied from Anycall CDMA2000 in 2000 , so there were many reviews that the typeface or menu design was clunky compared to UIs of other companies.[10][11] SCH-W110 with a new UI in November 2003 and SCH - X850 in March 2004 were released, but the old UI was adopted again . Flash GUI

This interface was used from November 2004 to August 2009.[22] The initial stage of Flash GUI is a UI created by reflecting the design and interface of a new UI created by transforming the late color GUI (2nd generation). MSM6100/6500 or higher chipsets are installed, and as shown in the overview, the UI was different for each product before being integrated into the Black GUI . Of course, there was a time when the same menu was available for a certain period of time. The first device with Flash GUI was SPH-S1300, and the last device with Flash GUI was SCH-S540.[23] am.

The Any Dial function was also added at this time. It consisted of an ink pen and a memo board, and this composition continued to the White GUI. However, LED was added from the Black GUI, and in the SCH-S540, the ink pen, memo board, and LED that existed until the existing White GUI were deleted and replaced with marine boy, ink, and stamp among the any dials of the Personal GUI.

From the beginning, there is a service search animation limited to 2G phones or less that appears after the booting screen. Unlike the Color GUI, the type is one of idling. The important thing is that this was included in almost all models in the case of Color GUI, but it was loaded with luck in Flash GUI. If there is a difference from Color GUI, only the search animation repeats infinitely if communication is not caught in Color. For SKT and U+ products, the animation appears and ends after a certain period of time, but for KT, it repeats until the button is pressed. However, after Flash, whether or not it is caught, the phone number is displayed and booted only for KT and U+. Even if it is the same model, it may be different depending on the carrier. It is mainly used for KT, and the reason is not particularly known.[24] Only a few devices that entered the Black GUI had an idle rotation animation, and since then, more 3G devices than 2G devices have naturally changed to USIM-recognized animations.
