Süleyman Pasha (1316 - 1357)[1] was the eldest son of Orhan, the second ruler of the newly established Ottoman Empire.[2] His mother was either the concubine Nilüfer Hatun or, more probably, the consort Efendize Hatun[3][4][5]. He played a major role in early Ottoman expansion into Thrace in the 1350s.[6] He died in a hunting accident in 1357.[7]

Süleyman Pasha had two known consorts:[8]
- Selçuk Hatun, daughter of Seyyid Hüseyin Çelebi.
- Gülbahar Hatun, daughter of Sorum Bayezid.

Süleyman Pasha had at least three sons:[8]
- Ishak Bey, Rumelia's bey.
- Melik Nasir Bey, drowned in the sea near Bolayır.
- Ismail Bey, Rumelia's bey.

Süleyman Pasha had at least two daughters:[8]
- Sultan Hatun (died in 1395, buried at Sinop), married Candaroğlu Süleyman Pasha and was mother of Mubariz al-Din Isfendiyar Bey.
- Efendize Hatun (died in July 1397, buried in Akşehir, Imaret Cami's cemetery).
