Club

In 2018, Ryan was on the Belmullet team that won the 2018 Mayo Intermediate Football Championship for the first time in 44 years. He scored 3 points in the final against Burrishoole, which was won out on a score of 2-10 to 0-09. [3]

in 2021, Ryan was on the Belmullet team that reached the final of the Mayo Senior Football Championship for the first time in 40 years. He scored 3 points in a losing final effort against Knockmore, which finished on a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-06.[4]

County

Ryan made his Senior inter county championship debut in 2020, starting wing forward as Mayo beat Leitrim 0-10 to 2-15 in Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada in the quarter final of the 2020 Connacht Senior Football Championship. [5] He again started wing forward in the semi final win against Roscommon.[6] He got his first championship score in the final, scoring a point as Mayo won out against Galway on a scoreline of 0-14 to 0-13[7]
