Princess Maria-Aunciata was born on 12 May 1985 in Uccle to Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein and Princess Margaretha of Luxembourg.[1] Her father is the third son of Franz Joseph II and the younger brother of Hans-Adam II. Her mother is the daughter of Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Princess Joséphine-Charlotte of Belgium.[1] Maria-Anunciata is the sister of Prince Leopold, Princess Marie-Astrid, and Prince Joesf-Emmanuel.[1]

She spent summers of her childhood in Cabasson, a hamlet in Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, near Îles d'Hyères.[2]

Career

edit

Maria-Anunciata works as an art researcher and curator.[2] She curated exhibits for museums and independent projects in Paris, Rome, and New York City and was employed by the art publishing house Cahiers d'Art.[2]

In 2016, she assisted in a Pablo Picasso retrospective exhibition in Rome, marking the centenary of the artist's trip to Rome and Naples with Jean Cocteau and the Ballets Russes.[2] She worked with Valentina Moncada and Olivier Berggruen to create the exhibit, which was shown at Scuderie del Quirinale.[3]

Personal life

edit

Maria-Anuciata married Carlo Emanuele Musini, co-founder and chairman of the American home health-start up Pillo Health, in a civil ceremony on 26 June 2021 at the Villa della Tenuta di Fassia in Gubbio, Italy.[1] Their Catholic wedding took place on 4 September 2021 at the Schottenkirche in Vienna.[4] She wore the Habsburg fringe tiara and a gown by Valentino for her wedding.[5] The reception was held at the Liechtenstein Garden Palace in Vienna.[5] Maria-Anunciata wore the Luxembourg vine leaves tiara, on loan from her uncle, for the reception.[5]

Many members of the Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg attended the religious ceremony including Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillame, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, Archduchess Marie-Astrid, Prince Guillame, Prince Jean, Prince Félix, Princess Claire, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra, and Prince Sébastien.[6][5] Other notable guests included Princess Matilde zu Fürstenberg, Beatrice Borromeo, Pierre Casiraghi, Hereditary Princess Ekaterina of Hanover, Princess Christian of Hanover, Hereditary Princess Cleopatra of Oettingen-Spielberg, Princess Mafalda of Hesse, and Rolf Sachs.[5] King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium were supposed to attend, but had to quarantine due to testing positive for COVID-19.[6]
