The Pegas Avis is a Czech single-place paraglider that was designed and produced by Pegas 2000 of Prague. It is now out of production.[1]

Design and development edit

The aircraft was designed as an intermediate glider. The design has progressed through three generations of models, the Avis 1, 2 and 3, each improving on the last. The Avis 3 was introduced in 2003.[1]

The models are each named for their approximate wing area in square metres.[1]

Avis 2 24
Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 11.1 m (36.4 ft) span wing has a wing area of 24.4 m2 (263 sq ft), 38 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.1:1. The pilot weight range is 55 to 80 kg (121 to 176 lb).[1]
Avis 2 26
Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 11.7 m (38.4 ft) span wing has a wing area of 26.1 m2 (281 sq ft), 40 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.3:1. The pilot weight range is 70 to 95 kg (154 to 209 lb). The glider model is Swiss SHV Performance certified.[1]
Avis 2 30
Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 12.9 m (42.3 ft) span wing has a wing area of 30.2 m2 (325 sq ft), 42 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.4:1. The pilot weight range is 105 to 130 kg (231 to 287 lb).[1]
