Pascal Ruffenach (born 2 October 1959) is a French publisher who has been chairman of the board of directors of the Bayard Presse since 2017.[1] He is also the author of several novels.[2]

Education

After secondary studies with the Oratorians, he spent his years of study in Paris at the Lycée Condorcet then completed a master's degree in literature and one in philosophy. He then spent two years of cooperation in South China before returning to France to follow the HEC Paris MBA with the desire to work in publishing.[3]

Career

After his studies, he spent four years at Publicis then Havas as a strategic planner. In 1992, he met Yves and Mijo Beccaria, who headed the Bayard Presse group. He joined Bayard's Youth sector, as director of the children's and early childhood editorial teams. In 1998, he was appointed director of Bayard's culture and religion sector. In 2002, he moved to the United States, in charge of Bayard's American activities.[4]

In 2006, he became deputy director of public jeunesse, then took over as chairman of the Bayard board of directors in 2017.[5][6]

In 2023, he became a director of Reporters d'Espoirs, an association that works for solutions journalism.[7]
