History of the School

edit

No.3 Middle School of Lingshan County was founded in 1916 in Lingshan County.[5] In 1916, during the early years of the Republic of China, China was experiencing turmoil and transformation after the Xinhai Revolution.[5] During this period, Chinese society had an urgent demand for modernization and national construction, and the people were also seeking cultural and educational innovation.[5] The establishment of Lingshan Experimental Middle School was in response to the call of intellectuals for a new type of education.[4] It aimed to stimulate the revolutionary and fighting spirit of the people through education, introduce Western educational models, and cultivate a revolutionary main force with modern knowledge and an international perspective. That is, to promote the revolution and improve the overall quality of the nation through education.[4][6] The school has also cultivated some revolutionaries, which led to the Lingshan Revolution, such as Huang Hongbo, Lu Dejun and others.[6]

After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1945, the school was renamed Lingshan Experimental Middle School, and then renamed No.3 Middle School of Lingshan County.[1]
