Nethra Tilakumara (born 1999) is an English actress. She is known for her roles in the iPlayer series Flatmates (2019–2021), the CBBC sitcom So Awkward (2019–2020), and the ITV series Tell Me Everything (2024).

Early life and education
editTilakumara was born in central London and grew up in Borehamwood. She is of Sri Lankan descent and has a brother.[1] Tilakumara took acting classes at the local Stagecoach Performing Arts branch.[2] She went on to pursue a BTEC Extended Diploma at Emil Dale Academy.[3]
Career
editTilakumara began her career as a child actress playing Singing Sorarya in the 2011 children's comedy film Horrid Henry: The Movie.[4] She returned to acting in 2018, making her television debut in a series 3 episode of the BBC One military drama Our Girl as Jamila Khan. The following year, Tilakumara joined the main cast of the CBBC sitcom So Awkward for its fifth series as Yasmin[5] and began starring as Kat in the BBC iPlayer comedy-drama Flatmates.[6][7] She played both roles for two series. In 2023, it was announced Tilakumara had joined the cast of the ITV teen drama Tell Me Everything for its second series as Naisha, which aired in 2024.[8][9]
Personal life
editTilakumara was in a relationship with fellow So Awkward star Archie Lyndhurst, who passed away unexpectedly in 2020.[10][11]
