Negi is a title of Pahadi Rajputs or thakur. The Negi title originated from the word ‘nek’ which means ‘righteous’ it was given to the warriors and ministers by the king at that time they were given the work to collect tax from villages,they were given some percentage of it and the officials were called negi.They belonged to the royal family like bisht and rawats.[1][2] origin found in the Indian states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu.
