Mohammad Moyeenul Haque

Vice Admiral Mohammad Moyeenul Haque, NBP, NPP, nswc, psc is a retired officer of the Bangladesh Navy. His last appointment before retirement was the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Materiel) ACNS(M). Prior that he worked as a Senior Directing Staff [SDS (Navy)] at the National Defence College.[1][2] He took over the command of Commodore Superintendent Dockyard in February 2017. Before that he was the General Manager (Planning & Design) at Dockyard & Engineering Works (DEW), Narayanganj.

Early life and education edit

Mohammad Moyeenul Haque completed his schooling from Faujdarhat Cadet College, and joined Bangladesh Naval Academy as an officer cadet in January 1984. After two and half years of military training at the academy he was commissioned on 1 July 1986. He earned an engineering graduation from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in naval architecture & marine engineering. Subsequently, he attended different academic and naval professional training at home and abroad including post-graduations from National University (Bangladesh), DSCSC (Mirpur), Pakistan Navy Engineering College PNS JAUHAR, National Defence University (Pakistan) and various other civil and military institutions.[3]

Military career edit

Mohammad Moyeenul Haque served as an engineer officer onboard different ships of Bangladesh Navy, and in staff, instructional, and command capacities in different units, establishments, dockyards, and different formation headquarters including the NHQ. He had served two tenures as director of a number of offices at the naval headquarters, and also twice as the ACNS(M). He also served with the UN as a member of military contingent in Kuwait in early 2003 and another time in Liberia as a military observer during 2004–2005.[3] Besides his military career he also worked in the Ministry of Home Affairs for Rapid Action Battalion in its HQ.

He was awarded Nou Bahini Padak (NBP; Navy Medal), Nou Parodarshita Padak (NPP; Navy Efficiency Medal), and Shuddhachar Padak (Integrity Medal) by the government of Bangladesh.
