The Hanzomon Line platforms opened on January 26, 1989, as the terminus of the line from Chūō-Rinkan; they became through platforms on November 28, 1990, when the line was extended to Suitengūmae.

The station facilities were inherited by Tokyo Metro after the privatization of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (TRTA) in 2004.[1]

Surrounding area
