Fermin played for Letran Squire in high school and for UP Fighting Maroons in college.[1][2]

Fermin served as head coach of the Adamson Soaring Falcons for interim basis in 2015.[3][4]After serving for senior's team head coach, he was demoted[5] and served as head coach for women's team from 2016 to 2017,[3][6][7] and later with the Baby Falcons, junior's team.[1]

He steered Baby Falcons into championship in 2023. [8]
