Matías Ezequiel Zaldivia (born January 22, 1991) is a football defender currently playing for Chilean Primera División team Universidad de Chile. Born in Argentina, he plays for the Chile national team.

Club career

Zaldivia made his professional debut for Chacarita Juniors in 2010.[1]

International career

After taking part in a training microcycle of the Chile squad at under-23 level,[2] he made his international debut in the friendly match against Cuba on 11 June 2023.[3]

He was called up to the Chile under-23 squad for the 2023 Pan American Games as an overage player alongside Brayan Cortés and César Fuentes,[4] where Chile won the silver medal.[5]

Personal life

In December 2021, he acquired the Chilean nationality by residence along with his colleague Diego Buonanotte,[6] keeping the Argentine nationality.[7]
