Mary E. Daschbach is an American diplomat who is the nominee to be the US Ambassador to Togo.[1]

Early life and education edit

Daschbach obtained her a B.A. from Yale University and her M.A. from the College of Naval Warfare.[1]

Career edit

Daschbach is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, with the rank of Counselor. She is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Cameroon. Other assignments in Africa include those in the Republic of the Congo, Togo, Ghana, and Benin. Daschbach has also worked as a Foreign Service officer in the United Kingdom, Costa Rica, and in Washington, D.C.. Outside of the State Department, Daschbach worked at the Community Relations Service office in the United States Department of Justice.[1]

US Ambassador Nomination edit

On February 29, 2024, President Joe Biden nominated Daschbach to be the next ambassador to Togo.[1] Her nomination is pending before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.[2]

Personal life edit

Daschbach is a resident of Rhode Island. She speaks French and Spanish.[1]
