Lucky Akter is a young politician from Bangladesh who gained significant attention during the Shahbag movement in 2013 for her powerful voice and slogans. Currently a member of the central committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, she served as the third woman president of Bangladesh Students Union in 2015 and was the first-ever woman general secretary in the organization's history in 2013. Her involvement in student movements began in 2009 during the Hall Movement at Jagannath University.

Early life and education

Akter passed her SSC examination from Adarsha Biddya Niketan and her HSC from Milestone College. In 2007, Lucky pursued her BA in English language and literature from Jagannath University in Dhaka.[6]

Political life

Akter was elected the general secretary of the Bangladesh Students Union (BSU) in 2014 and the president in 2015.[7] Lucky is currently a central committee member[8] of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and an executive member of Bangladesh Krishak Samity (BKS).[9]

Akter played a pivotal role [10][11] in the Shahbag Movement of 2013 with her powerful slogans.

Akter has recorded songs like the Bengali version of "Bella Ciao" titled "Biplober Phool".[12][13][14]
