The Linda Lindas have recorded 17 songs for album or EP releases, 7 songs as singles, and 5 songs outside albums,[a] totaling 29 songs. Each member of the Linda Lindas contributes to songwriting, aside from cover songs.[1] The band started out as a cover band, playing music from multiple bands such as Le Tigre and the Go-Go's, whose "Tonite" they later covered.[2][3] Other artists the band has covered includes Bikini Kill ("Rebel Girl"), the Muffs ("Big Mouth"), and the Blue Hearts ("Linda Linda"). Cover songs were included on two releases: Moxie (Music from the Netflix Film)[4] and the bonus edition of Growing Up,[5] as well as on other appearances.
The Linda Lindas released their debut single, "Claudia Kishi", independently in 2020,[6] followed by the EP The Linda Lindas.[7] In 2021, the band went viral with a performance of "Racist, Sexist Boy" and subsequently signed with the Los Angeles-based label Epitaph Records.[8] They released another EP, Moxie (Music from the Netflix Film),[9] which contains music that appeared in the Netflix film Moxie.[4] The Linda Lindas released their debut album, entitled Growing Up, in 2022. Four singles were released from the album: "Oh!", "Nino", "Growing Up", and "Talking to Myself".
