Koala Airlines, is an Australian low-cost airline,[1] headquartered in Melbourne. Koala was founded in March 2018 by Bill Astling, whom had previously worked as a consultant for twelve major and start-up airlines.[2]

Acquisition of Desert Air Safaris
editOn 1 January 2019, Koala Airlines acquired Desert Air Safaris PTY LTD. Desert Air Safaris had operated since its founding in 1970 by Dick Lang and Helen Lang out of Highbury, Western Australia.[3] This acquisition included the air operator's certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.[4][5]
Fleet
editKoala Airlines is in negotiations to purchase an unspecified amount of 737 MAX 8 aircraft.[1]
