Kapušany (Hungarian: Kapi) is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.
History
editIn historical records the village was first mentioned in 1248.
Geography
editThe municipality lies at an altitude of 280 metres and covers an area of 11.3 km2 (4.4 sq mi) (2020-06-30/-07-01).[1]
Population
editIt has a population of about 2,264 people (2020-12-31).[2]
Popular Image
editIt is well known internationally through the popular polka tune, "Ja parobok z Kapušan" ("I am a bachelor from Kapusany").
