History
editPeter Neuwirth founded Kampfkunstschule Tiger Kwon in 2000.[3] He began his martial arts journey in 1992 at the Judo Club Lambach under Grandmaster Adolf Bauer and later trained in Tae Kwon-Do with Grandmaster Shin Bong Hee, achieving the rank of 1st Dan. In addition, he holds 1st Dan in American Kobudo,[4] 4th Dan in kickboxing[5] and 5th Dan in Sochin Ryu Kobudo.[6] Initially named "Tiger Kwon – Allstyle" and affiliated with the ÖTB Bad Schallerbach, the school focused on Kickboxing before expanding to include Kobudo.[7][8][9]
The school's training programs include Kickboxing, Sochin Ryu Kobudo and Kids-Karate.[10][8] Since 2002, Kampfkunstschule Tiger Kwon has hosted TKA Kampfsportlehrgang seminars, which are open to practitioners from various martial arts styles and associations.[11] Peter Neuwirth has enhanced his expertise through international training in China, Thailand, and Okinawa, studying under notable martial arts masters such as Nakamoto Masahiro.
In 2014, the school launched the Tiger Kwon - Kids program to teach martial arts to younger students, focusing on fundamental skills, discipline, and teamwork.[12][13] During the COVID-19 pandemic, the school adapted online training sessions to maintain continuity in student practice.[14]
The school conducts regular belt tests for Kickboxing, Kobudo, and the Tiger Kwon - Kids program to evaluate student progress.
