Junqan District (Persian: بخش جونقان) is in Farsan County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Junqan.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, Mizdej-e Sofla Rural District and the city of Junqan were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Junqan District.[3] In addition, the village of Pardanjan rose to city status.[4]

After the 2011 census, the village of Cholicheh was elevated to the status of a city.[5]

At the time of the 2011 census, the district's population was 35,166 people in 9,487 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 34,876 inhabitants living in 9,944 households.[2]
