Julien Ribot, an anagram of Leiji Burton, is a French psychedelic artist, director, and pop singer-songwriter.

His great-great-grandfather, Théodule Ribot, founded the Revue Philosophique (1876) and authored Essai sur l'imagination créatrice (1900).

Career

In 2001, Ribot released his debut album, Hôtel Bocchi[1][2], and signed with the label Ici, d’ailleurs the same year. He followed up with three more albums: La Métamorphose de Caspar Dix in 2004, Vega[3] in 2008, and Do you feel 9? in 2021. In 2012, he also released a five-track EP titled Songs For Coco[4].

In 2005, Ribot co-produced and arranged Bouille de Lune, the debut album by Orly Chap, and 67 Songs by Captain Kid in 2012.[5][6]

In 2013, he co-created the theater piece Son Son with Nicolas Maury.[7]

  • 2012: Co-wrote the music video Love with Julien Hallard, directed by Hallard and starring Sara Forestier.[8]

  • 2017: Co-directed Portrait Zootropique featuring Joana Preiss with Annabelle Jouot.[9]
