José Corporán

Jose Corporán was a Dominican militant and martyr of the Dominican Restoration War. He was originally from San Cristóbal. He was in exile when the annexation took place on March 18, 1861, and came with the expedition forces under Francisco del Rosario Sánchez and José María Cabral that entered the Dominican Republic through the Haitian border at the end of June. He was part of the column headed by the first, as a junior officer. He was captured in the ambush set up by the treacherous Santiago D'Oleo at the foot of the Juan de la Cruz hill, transferred and tried along with Sánchez and the other companions, he was executed on July 4, 1861, in San Juan de la Maguana.
