The Johnsonburg Area School District is a small, rural, public school district that serves parts of Elk County, Pennsylvania. It encompasses the communities of Johnsonburg, Ridgway Township, and Jones Township. Johnsonburg Area School District encompasses 227 square miles (590 km2).

History and demographics

In 2009, the district residents’ per capita income was $16,810, while the median family income was $42,131.[1] In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501[2] and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010.[3] The district operates one elementary school and one junior/senior high school.
