Etymology
editThe name is derived from the word jíva (i.e. 'goat willow'), meaning "goat willow grove".[2]
Geography
editJivina is located about 14 kilometres (9 mi) north of Mladá Boleslav and 58 km (36 mi) northeast of Prague. It lies in the Jizera Table. The highest point is at 326 m (1,070 ft) above sea level. The Jizera River flows along the eastern municipal border and the Zábrdka Stream flows along the western municipal border.

editThere are no protected cultural monuments in the municipality.[6] Among the landmarks of Jivina are the two chapels.
