Jeph Acheampong is a Ghanaian-American entrepreneur and the founder of Blossom Academy, the first data science academy established in West Africa, and a founding member of Esusu Financial, a Fintech platform that helps millions of renters build credit.[1] [2][3]

He is an Expo Live Global Innovator, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and was named a Future of Ghana Pioneer. In 2021, He was appointed by the Government of Ghana to support the development of the Ghana National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2023–2033.[4][5][6]

Early life and education

Acheampong was born in Accra, Ghana and grew up in New York. He finished high school at Forest Hills High School (New York) in 2012. Acheampong went on to study economics at New York University. Later, he pursued a Master's in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship at Harvard University.[7][8][1]

Career

Acheampong began his entrepreneurial career at New York University by founding Anansi Global, a humanitarian fashion company. In 2018, he founded Blossom Academy, Ghana's first Data science academy. [9] and also co-founded Blossom Corporate Training to upskill working professionals.[10][11][12][13]

In 2021, He was named amongst the Africa's Young Entrepreneurs of the year[14] and was invited by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs to discuss ways of coping with uncertainties and finding jobs in a worsening economic market.[15][16][17]

Jeph Acheampong was featured on CNN[3] and was also as a Milestone Maker of the Fall 2021 cohort of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.[18]

In 2022, He was invited as a speaker by West Africa Business Forum for youths and young women entrepreneurs from 15 countries across Africa, and also at the 2024 World Youth Development Forum in Guangzhou, China.[19][5]

He is a 2018 Princeton in Africa Fellow, a 2023 Acumen Fellow, and a 2024 Cheng Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is also a 2018 Future of Ghana “30 under 30” honoree and was recognized by New York University as an “Up-and-Comer.”[20][6] [21][3]
