The Himal, or Himali Pradesh, is socioeconomic zone of Nepal. It lies in the northernmost part of the Himalayas that lies exclusively within Nepal. It represents a high-altitude region with some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest. Geographicallly it lies north of the Pahad region.

  • Extreme temperatures, ranging from alpine conditions to nival (snow) at the highest elevations
  • Minimal vegetation due to the harsh climate

The Himal region is known for its extreme altitude and unique biodiversity, including species adapted to high-altitude environments. The climate varies from subtropical at lower elevations to nival at the highest peaks.[1]
