Hajiya Haidzatu Ahmed is a Nigerian traditional ruler who has reigned as the Queen of Kumbwada since 1998. As queen, she rules firmly against domestic violence against women and is a proponent of women's education.

Biography
editHajiya is the ruler of the ancient rural kingdom of Kumbwada in Niger, with a population of about 33,000.[1][2] She succeeded her grandmother as queen of the kingdom, which is ruled by women, in 1998.[3][4][5] Her daughter, Idris, is the heir apparent.[1] She also has a son, Danjuma Salih.[6]
As queen, Hajiya settles marriage and land disputes, keeps the peace, and is an advocate for the education of women.[5] In 2010, she told CNN that, "Women must be educated. Education means women can be anything they want to be."[5] She rules firmly against divorce and domestic violence against women in Kumbawada, the queen grants women hearings.[7][6]
She is Muslim.[8]
