Gustav Karl Girgensohn

Gustav Karl Girgensohn (1786-1872[1]) was an Estonian botanist (bryologist); court counselor in Tartu.

Plant genus Girgensohnia is named after him.[citation needed]

The standard author abbreviation Girg. is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.[2]
