Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Anandpur Sahib

Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is a gurdwara located in the city of Anandpur Sahib, Rupnagar district, Punjab, India. It is a historic Gurdwara where the head of the ninth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Teg Bahadur, was cremated.[1]

History

The history of this Gurdwara is that ninth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Teg Bahadur was martyred at Delhi 11 November 1675. His head was brought by Bhai Jaita and his companions form Delhi to Chak Nanaki (Anandpur Sahib) and His head was cremated at this place.[2] When Guru Gobind Singh left Anandpur Sahib, on the night of December 5 and 6,1705, he visited this place and appointed Bhai Gurbakhsh Das Udasi as caretaker of this shrine and began his final journey.
