Guran (Persian: گوران)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Kenar Rud Rural District of Bala Taleqan District of Taleqan County, Alborz province, Iran.[4]

editAt the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 553 in 175 households, when it was in Bala Taleqan Rural District of the former Taleqan District, Savojbolagh County, Tehran province.[5] In October 2010, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Taleqan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Taleqan as its capital and only city. The rural district was transferred to the new Bala Taleqan District, and Guran was transferred to Kenar Rud Rural District created in the district.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 401 people in 155 households,[2] by which time the county had been separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.[7]
