Background edit

The government was formed after former General Mohamed Ould Ghazouani won the 2019 presidential election, thus deciding to appoint a new government as such a move is seen as a major indicator of Ghazouani's governance plans.[3]

Many of the new ministers were considered to be close to the previous president Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.[4]
