The tournament consisted of a single group of 4 teams in which each team played once against the other 3 teams in the group on a single round-robin basis. The top three teams will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Venezuela secured the gold medal at the end of the second matchday when they defeated Peru 4–3, which gave them the advantage in the head-to-head criterion (first tie-breaker in case of equal points) against this same rival, which was the only one that could equal them in points in the last matchday.[9]
