Free Range is the stage name of American indie folk musician Sofia Jensen. Jensen is originally from Scandinavia, but grew up in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.[1][2] Under the Free Range moniker, Jensen has released one full-length album. On December 7, 2022, Jensen announced plans to release their first album, titled Practice.[3] The album was released on February 17, 2023.[3] Jensen began writing for the album when they were fifteen years old alongside their live drummer Jack Henry.[1] The album received the attention of numerous publications, such as Pitchfork,[4] Chicago Reader,[5] New Noise Magazine,[6] and Paste.[7]
