Português: O Mercado Municipal de Campinas, popularmente conhecido como Mercadão, foi inaugurado em 12 de abril de 1908, pelo prefeito Orosimbo Maia.

O Mercado foi projetado pelo arquiteto campineiro Ramos de Azevedo (1851-1928), em estilo neomourisco.

Em 1983, o Mercadão foi tombado pelo IPHAN (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional) e em 1996, pelo CONDEPACC (Conselho de Defesa do Patrimônio Artístico e Cultural de Campinas). Já em 2007, foi eleito uma das 7 Maravilhas de Campinas.
