English: HMS Phoenix (1832), HMS Talbot (1824) and HMS Diligence (1814) at anchor, Holsteinborg A view looking northwest from the settlement of Holsteinborg across the harbour towards the mountains skirting the north side of the bay. At anchor are (l-r) the storeship HMS Diligence (1814), HMS Phoenix (1832), a converted screw Sloop, and the storeship HMS Talbot (1824), a converted Sixth Rate. The three ships arrived at Holsteinborg on 8 June at 1.45pm and departed for Godhavn [referred to as Lievely in Phoenix's log] at 9am on 17 June 1854, on their way northward to supply the 'Franklin' search ships under Captain Sir Edward Belcher in the Canadian archipelago. |
