Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Taiwan

Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Taiwan is an in-lieu travel document issued by the National Immigration Administration of the People's Republic of China, to its citizens from mainland China, to exit the mainland border checkpoint when leaving for the Taiwan area of the Republic of China.

This travel document does not entitle its holder to leave mainland China or enter the Taiwan area of the Republic of China. The holder needs to apply for an endorcement (exit permission) issued by the National Immigration Administration or they will be usually refused exit from mainland China. The holder needs to apply for an Exit & Entry Permit (de facto visa) issued by the ROC immigration, the National Immigration Agency, to enter the Taiwan area of the ROC. When leaving for the Taiwan area of the ROC from areas other than mainland China, Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Taiwan is not required.
