Drass district is one of 7 districts in Ladakh, India.[1] It is one of the smallest districts in India.[2]

History

The residents of the region have been demanding district status to the region owing to its vast geography.[3] In Aug 2024, the district was created,[4] by carving out from the Kargil district.[2]

Drass now serves as a stopping point for travelers heading to Leh and Kargil.[5]
