Can't say I condone the idea of directing the people who created this mess straight to the proper article, but they'll find the proper article either way eventually. Go ahead, I give you my blessing, for what it's worth. It's better to deal with the inevitable influx of wp:fancruft-quality editing on the proper article as soon as possible. It's good to get it all out of the way.

I suggest deleting this article completely, then setting up the re-direct separately. Is that how it would be converted anyway? I don't understand the nitty-gritty of the process, just throwing my thoughts out there.

I hate to speak of this article so lowly when discussing it, but the way this is written, it's well-intended, yes, but it's citing a bunch of Latin American sources, and I just can't help but conclude this was likely written by (well-meaning, don't get me wrong) Spanish-speaker(s) who have low-level English skills. Not that this observation makes any difference when this is deleted, but it's so painfully obvious. Again, the author(s) were likely well-meaning, but this is apparent from a brief skim.
