I don't know what you mean about putting external links in an article...do you mean it should only have Wikipedia links and references in the body of the article?

Finally, I don't know what you mean by patents aren't notable. Do you mean I shouldn't mention them? I saw them listed in the "1st and Ten" Wikipedia article that has the redlink I'm trying to fix.

Thanks, a couple of comments regarding the feedback. 1) One comment said that someone (I assume me) has too close a relationship to the subject. That isn't the case. I was introduced to him a couple of months ago and was told he invented the yellow line in football. I spoke to him for less than 5 minutes. I looked up the Wikipedia page about the yellow line (1st and Ten") and saw his name as a dead end red link. I assumed that meant someone should provide info so that when his name was clicked on it would at least describe the motivation and background for the invention (since 10's of millions of people see it every week during football season). I decided to write an article for a red link and I tracked Dr. Crain down and interviewed him. Then I went about looking for references to substantiate the article. So I don't think I'm too close to the subject. I'm still looking for alternative references. Tracyjohnj (talk) 05:46, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
