1997-1999: Formation

edit

In 1997, Dusk Lycanroc began practicing his death growls and vocal fry screams at the age of 17. He met Jason Mikazo in a recording studio, and the two became close friends. Tony Lionheart had known Dusk Lycanroc since the 5th grade and they had started to take an interest in heavy metal. With Dusk Lycanroc's vocals and Tony Lionheart's guitar skills, they both decided to form a band. In 1997, they recruited Jay Spineson (from Bolton, Canada) to come over to New York City to play the drums.

After practicing and training, they decided to take the next step and sign with Metal Blade Records in late 1999. With the record label's support, they were able to start recording their debut album.

2000-2001: Red Eyes on You

edit

In December 1999, the band began recording their debut album, Red Eyes on You. The album included Dusk Lycanroc's powerful death growls, which sounded monstrous, yet unbreakable without pain. The band had decided to release four singles for the album. The singles included "Heart Rate," "Hypotension," "Caught Up" and "Punk Wolf (Into Metal Music)." The singles were a huge success and helped to establish the band's name in the heavy metal world.

After the success of Red Eyes on You, the band embarked on their first ever tour. The tour was a huge success, with the band playing in front of sold out festivals, concerts and arenas. This was the start of the band's journey to becoming one of the most successful bands in the heavy metal scene.

edit

In 2002, the band released their second album, Poison and Death. This album was a big change for the band, with Dusk Lycanroc now doing an intricate, vocal fry screams that added a whole new layer of intensity to the band's sound. This was the last album with bassist Jason Mikazo, who was forced to leave the band due to heart issues. The band began touring with a new bassist to promote the album and to maintain their momentum.

The band decided to name the bass guitarist Ryan Wilson as the replacement bassist before the start of the tour. Ryan was a seasoned musician who had been playing in a few bands before joining. He was a good fit with the band and helped to make the transition from Jason Mikazo smooth.

2005-2007: Death goes Insane

edit

In 2005, the band decided to release their third album, Death goes Insane, which was defined as death going insane. It was the first album with Ryan Wilson on the bass guitar and Jay Spineson decided to give it this name. The album features 5 singles, "Death goes Insane," "Sick Lycanroc," "One of My Punk Friends," "Do You Not Know" and "Professor Days." The album was also the first one associated with BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) since Wolf of Blood made an association with the label.

After the release of Death goes Insane, the band decided to embark on a 2-year tour from September 2005 to October 2007. They played over 250 shows across the globe, including in North America, Europe and Asia. The tour was successful and allowed the band to reach a new level of fame and popularity.

During the band's 2-year tour, they made an appearance on the Bloodstream Radio Station. The interview with the radio station was done by DJ Bloodshot, who was known for his intense interviews and edgy questions. The interview was very successful, with the band playing one of their new singles, "Death goes Insane, on air. The album featured other artists as guests, which added an additional layer of intensity and variety to the album's sound. This was a turning point for the band as they now had to figure out their next move without Tony Lionheart and without their long-time label, Metal Blade Records. In 2012, the band decided to create their own label, Blood Wolf Music Entertainment, which helped to give them complete control over their music and allowed them to release their music without any outside restrictions or rules. The new label also helped them to find a new guitarist to replace Tony Lionheart, who had left the band due to personal struggles in the previous year. The new guitarist was named Zack Wild, who was a seasoned heavy metal guitarist who was able to fit in with the band's sound and style perfectly.

Zack Wild was previously the guitarist for the band Cult of the World. The band was known for having a similar heavy metal style to Wolf of Blood, so Zack Wild was able to fit in with the band's sound perfectly. He was a seasoned guitarist who had years of experience and his skill and passion for heavy metal blended perfectly with the rest of the band.
