The Wiseman Mathematics Contest is a Canada national mathematics contest for Indigenous youth on reserves in grades 4, 5 and 6[1]. It was started in 2008 by Dr. Arzu Sardarli from the First Nations University of Canada[2]. It is the first mathematical contest explicitly developed for Indigenous students in North America[3]. The purpose of the contest is to encourage curiosity and critical thinking about the beauty of mathematics within Indigenous communities.
