Ward Parry is an American and British screenwriter and film producer, best known for his work on Curtiz (2018) and Retribution (2023).

Life and career

Parry is a native of Flintshire, Wales. After being raised in Brazil and Malaysia, he returned to Wales and attended St. Richard Gwyn High School, then graduated from Huddersfield University in 2000.^{[citation needed]}

After graduating, Parry moved to London, where he worked at The Guardian newspaper before moving to Los Angeles to work as part of the analytics group at Legendary Entertainment. ^{[citation needed]}

Recipient of the Young & Hungry^[1] award in 2018, he wrote the script for the award winning Curtiz,^[2] a biography about Michael Curtiz set during the troubled set of Casablanca. In 2020 Parry was working with Rob Reiner and Warner Bros. to produce a TV series about Donald Trump.^[3] In 2023, Parry made uncredited contributions to Retribution, starring Liam Neeson. In May, 2024 Deadline announced his untitled spec script^[4]starring Jason Statham and directed by Baltasar Kormákur is scheduled to begin filming in November 2024 in the UK and Iceland. His most recent spec script CELLIST was picked up Gal Gadot's Pilot Wave Productions in April 2024. ^{[citation needed]}
