Wanderlust Ghana is a 12 member group of travellers, explorers, philanthropists and tourism enthusiasts in Ghana.[1] The team includes Richard Anim, Kwadwo Saka, Kwame Peprah, Kofi Peprah, and others. [2]
The team went on a remarkable cross-continental road trip from Accra to London with over 10,000 kilometers drive. Among the team was Nana Afua Serwaa, the only female who is also an auto repair technician.[3] They are the first Ghanaians to embark on this trip.[4]
Travel Backgrouund
editThe road trip from Accra to London started on July 23, 2023 through Aburi, Nsawam, Kumasi, and Sunyani to Dormaa and then entered Cote d’Ivoire through Golokrom.[5] [3]
During the journey, one person dropped off in Senegal and two others also dropped off in Morocco.[3]
From Cote D’Ivoire, the group continued their trip from Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco, and finally entered Europe through Spain by a Mediterranean ferry.[6]
On August 6th, nine individuals successfully reached London, completing the entire journey from Accra to London by road after others dropped off for work commitments during the journey.[7]
Vehicles
editThe team used five different registered Ghanaian vehicles which includes a Mercedez Benz G-Wagon, two Toyota Landcruisers (V8), Lexus RX 350, and a Ford F150, Raptor.[8]
Adventure Goal
editThe goal of the adventure was to raise funds for Edusports foundation which aims to provide technology resources to rural communities around Ghana.[9]
